Armada & Edarat Group: Pioneering Edge Computing & AI in MENA

In a groundbreaking move set to reshape the digital landscape of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Armada, a pioneering force in edge computing solutions, has forged a strategic alliance with Edarat Group, a leading provider of Data Center engineering and Cloud Services. "This strategic collaboration is set to catalyze a digital renaissance across MENA, leveraging the unique strengths of Armada's edge computing solutions and Edarat Group's ICT prowess," remarked Dan Wright, CEO of Armada, encapsulating the transformative potential of this alliance.

This collaboration aims to bridge the digital divide by bringing cutting-edge edge computing and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to the region's industrial sector, businesses, and communities.

Partnership Announced at LEAP 2024

The partnership was officially announced at LEAP 2024, a prominent technology event held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from March 4-7. During the event, the companies also signed customer Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), solidifying their commitment to delivering innovative solutions to the MENA market.

Deploying Armada's Galleons Across the Region

At the heart of this alliance lies the deployment of Armada's modular data centers, known as "Galleons," across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the broader MENA region. By integrating Armada's full-stack edge infrastructure solution, including the Commander software platform, with Edarat's Sovereign Cloud, businesses will gain access to low-latency, high-performance compute and AI-enabled services at the edge.

For a prominent solution provider headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the analyses of camera, video, and sensor data on the Galleons platform is crucial. The insights effectively address their time-critical and low-latency requirements for intelligent parking, traffic control, waste administration, as well as ensuring the safety and security of civilians and government officials alike.

Similarly, a major utility provider in the Middle East is enthusiastic about utilizing Galleons to operate their industrial AI/ML applications at the Edge. This customer aims to deploy Edge solutions for energy monitoring, sustainability efforts, load balancing, and energy optimization, for enhanced efficiency and performance.

Revolutionizing Key Industries

The combined offering has the potential to revolutionize various sectors, including:

Oil and Gas: Providing high-bandwidth connectivity in remote areas, enabling real-time data processing and analysis to achieve asset optimization, operational efficiency, safety and workflow automation

Smart Cities: Facilitating compute, AI/ML, connected devices, and remote IoT analytics capabilities for urban environments.

Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Telecom: Unlocking new opportunities for innovation and operational efficiency through edge computing and AI. The benefits of providing manufacturing applications such as predictive maintenance for equipment, quality control and process optimization at the Edge are immense.

Enhancing Performance and User Experience

Ghassan El Khazen, Edarat's Chief Technology Officer, emphasized the benefits of this collaboration, stating, "By combining the scalability and flexibility of EdaratCloud with the speed and efficiency of edge computing, we can provide clients with a comprehensive solution that optimizes performance and user experience. The integration of EdaratCloud and the Galleon allows for real-time data processing closer to the source, reducing latency and enhancing overall system reliability."

Enabling Global-Scale Decision-Making

Pradeep Nair, Armada's Chief Technology Officer, echoed the sentiment, saying, "This partnership with Edarat Group marks a significant step in our commitment to enabling key industries to enhance their processing and decision-making capabilities on a truly global scale. We're excited to build upon Edarat's achievements in connectivity and data center innovation and address the growing need for decentralized, real-time data analysis across oil and gas, manufacturing, and emergency response enterprises, among others."

Rapid Deployment and Ruggedized Infrastructure

The Galleons, designed for rapid deployment, are self-contained and fully ruggedized, enabling their seamless integration into remote or urban environments. This unique combination of edge computing and AI capabilities promises to unlock the full potential of generative AI and predictive models, even in the most remote industrial sites across the MENA region.

Shaping the Future of Digital Innovation

As Armada and Edarat Group continue to expand their partnership, they invite businesses and communities across the MENA region to join them in shaping a future where technology knows no bounds, and every industry can harness the full potential of digital innovation.
