Fossefall Selects Armada to Accelerate Nordic AI Factory Deployment
OSLO and SAN FRANCISCO, August 25, 2026: Fossefall has selected Armada as one of its technology partners for future AI factories in Norway, Sweden and Finland. The first order of five Leviathan modular data centers has been placed as part of Fossefall's plan to build more than 1 gigawatt of Nordic-owned AI capacity by 2030.
The modular data centers with over 9 MW capacity are scheduled to be delivered by Q1 2027, as part of meeting Europe’s growing demand for energy-efficient, secure, sovereign AI infrastructure and will be built, owned, and operated on European terms. The agreement represents a contract value of several hundred million NOK.
Unlike traditional data center players, Fossefall controls the entire value chain from energized land, construction, operations, to AI services. This integrated approach provides investors with transparency, predictability, and long-term value creation, powered by renewable energy.

Sovereign by Design
Fossefall will own and operate the GPU infrastructure inside the Leviathans, including the computing capacity that powers AI workloads. This will keep critical infrastructure, data processing capability, and value creation under European ownership and control.

By having the critical technology in place, Fossefall will engage local firms for site preparation, installation, and operations during and after deployment. In close collaboration with Armada, the company will train and support local employees to deliver this specialized work.
Why Modular
Manufactured in Dublin, Ireland, Leviathans are part of Armada's Galleon family of modular data centers, designed around NVIDIA reference architecture. They are engineered to operate reliably across a wide range of environmental conditions. Fossefall chose a modular approach as the best fit for future projects and local conditions. Modular design reduces several of the challenges traditionally associated with data center construction, including construction-related noise, site disruption, and overall build complexity. The closed loop cooling system of the Leviathan eliminates daily water consumption.
Power infrastructure can be installed incrementally in direct alignment with Leviathan deployment. This avoids over-build of centralized infrastructure and enables efficient capital staging. Electrical routing remains localized and repeatable, simplifying design, permitting, and construction across multiple phases.
